While he’s projected to be the #1 pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft Zion Williamson is still an eighteen year old kid from the south.
The New Orleans Pelicans brass took Williamson out for dinner at World Famous restaurant Commander’s Palace in the French Quarter, the teenager reportedly ordered a “mountain” of chicken fingers.
“I was told that he took a visit here last week,” Andrews said on Sportscenter. “He came in on Tuesday, he met with some people in the front office, he met with the coaching staff, he went out to dinner. It was his first time visiting New Orleans and that only heightens the excitement that he’s feeling. He went to a very famed restaurant in New Orleans that’s been around since 1893 and has won multiple James Beard Awards and he sat down and ordered a mountain of chicken fingers. One thing that New Orleans fans will have to do is introduce him to a little bit of gumbo.”
Now Zion is speaking out, clearing the air on the whole ‘Chicken Fingers’ order.
Zion set the record straight on his first meal in New Orleans being chicken tenders 🤣
