It’s official. The number one overall pick Zion Williamson is officially a New Orleans Pelican. The team announced on Monday that he signed his rookie contract.
The details of Williamson’s new deal were not released by the Pelicans:
The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed rookie forward Zion Williamson. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
While the details of Zion’s deal weren’t released, prior to the signing he was expected to receive a $44.2 million, four-year deal.
That’s just the start to the insane money he will command throughout his NBA career. Let’s hope playing in New Orleans doesn’t steal his passion for the game.
