Zion Williamson is getting closer to making his debut with the Pelicans. The No. 1 overall pick is expected to return to practice shortly after New Year’s day and New Orleans is hopeful that he’ll be making his debut in January.
The Pelicans are being extremely careful with Williamson. His knee is probably fully recovered from the surgery he had back in October, as he was able to throw down a dunk in pregame warmups last Saturday.
It’s a matter of building his strength and his body up for the grind of an NBA schedule.
