Rule of thumb would be if you’re inactive, stay that way, and don’t do anything that will hinder your team’s chances to win. During Monday’s game between the Knicks and Nets, Russell was clapping from the bench to mock an official’s call.  

The Ref didn’t take too kindly of the clap, and slapped Russell with a technical foul. Sometimes refs have quick trigger fingers. Not a very smart move when you’re rocking street clothes.
