The crack of the bat, the smell of the grass and the lick of the bat.  America’s pastime is officially back.

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig likes to lick his bat.  He started doing so during the postseason last year.  It worked last year and according to Puig when he licks his bats they pay him back with hits.

Puig wasted no time trying to coax hits out of his bat.  He was spotted licking his bat on Opening Day.

No matter how many times we see this, it will never get old.  It’s one of the more interesting rituals in baseball.
