The New York Yankees have finally cut ties with injury prone outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury. He will go down as one of the worst free agent signings in MLB history.
Ellsbury signed a 7-year, $153 million deal with the Yankees prior to the 2014 season. That season was his best in pinstripes. He battled multiple injuries from that point on.
The former Red Sox star missed all of the 2018 and 2019 seasons due to injury.
