That’s going to leave a mark.
Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka has been a magnet for baseballs lately. He left his last start against the Rays early after he took a 111 MPH grounder to his lower leg.
In the second inning of his start on Thursday afternoon in Baltimore, Tanaka took a 102 MPH line drive to the chest. He knocked the line drive down and managed to stay in the game.
The Orioles jump on the board first with one run on two hits, a walk and an error. More importantly, Masahiro Tanaka avoided an injury scare with this flash of the leather.

Tanaka is getting too much of the plate lately. If he doesn’t make some adjustments soon he’s going to end up getting his head taken off, which was really close to happening on Thursday.
The Yankees certainly don’t want to see their ace getting drilled with comebackers every start.
