Red Sox pitcher David Price was given a standing ovation by Yankees fans prior to Game 3. The left-hander earned the warm welcome by losing Game 2 after only making it through an inning and a two-thirds, giving up three earned runs in the process.
Price and Red Sox manager Alex Cora seemed to be amused by the ovation.
If he keeps pitching the way he has been throughout his career in the postseason he’ll earn standing ovations at every visiting ballpark. He’s now 0-9 in 10 postseason starts with a 6.03 ERA. All for the low price of $30 million a year.
