St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina left Saturday’s game in the 9th inning after taking a foul tip to the junk. Not just any foul tip either.
Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant just got a piece of a 102 MPH pitch from right hander Jordan Hicks. The tip redirected the ball under Molina’s glove and straight into his junk.
Molina immediately went down and stayed down. He would eventually get to his feet and slowly walk off the field.
There’s no cup on the planet that’s going to 100 percent protect you from 102 MPH. It looks like he’ll be sitting on a bag of frozen vegetables tonight.
