John Manziel’s name rebranding is already paying off. Now that the AAF is no longer in business, the quarterback formerly known as Johnny Manziel, is currently without a league.
Manziel’s ultimate goal is to get another shot at the NFL. Before that happens he will need to prove himself in another league. That could take place in the XFL.
XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck did not rule out the possibility during an interview with Pro Football Talk:
“If he is able to meet our standards and if our coaches think he’s one of the top quarterbacks out there that can help us,” Luck said regarding whether Manziel may find work in the XFL. “Certainly we have no reason not to believe he couldn’t be in the mix. But again it’s really up to our coaches in terms of the quarterbacks they wanna take a look at.”
That’s a change in the way the league originally talked about Manziel’s chances of playing for one of their teams. John Manziel is on the comeback.
