Panthers quarterback Cam Newton went down with what was later diagnosed as a mid-foot strain on Thursday night against the Patriots. The Panthers are hopeful that the injury won’t keep him from making the Week 1 start against the Rams.
If the injury somehow does keep Cam out of the lineup, Newton’s teammate Eric Reid has the perfect guy to come in and help the Panthers out. You guessed it, Colin Kaepernick. Immediately following the game, the Panthers safety was telling reporters the Panthers should sign his friend.
