Washington Post reporter Felicia Sonmez has been suspended for tweets she sent out after Kobe Bryant’s death. In the now deleted tweets, she shared a 2016 Daily Beast story that detailed the sexual assault allegations against him from his 2003 rape case.
Sonmez also revealed that she had received thousands of emails and death threats as a result of her initial tweet.
The rape case never made it to trial and Bryant settled with the accuser out of court. He denied ever raping the accuser and said the sex they had was consensual.
