The Warriors are expected to trade D’Angelo Russell after they acquire him from the Nets in a sign-and-trade deal. According to Marc Stein, Russell doesn’t fit in with Golden State and they didn’t want to let Kevin Durant go without getting anything in return.
Stein says it’s just a matter of time before they trade him.
"De'Angelo Russell does not fit there whatsoever. They just did not want to see Kevin Durant walk out the door with no compensation. … They will trade him. It's just a matter of when." – @TheSteinLine on @dpshow

That makes a ton of sense for the Warriors to try to flip Russell. He probably isn’t a fan of the move, but he ends up with a max contract for his troubles.
The only concern left for Russell is where he gets traded to next. He went from the Nets, a playoff team, to the Warriors, a Finals contender.
It would be a shame if he was traded to a team with little to no chance of making it to the playoffs, although he has over 100 million reasons to be okay with that.
