Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius is off to a hot start. He’s hitting .372 with 9 homers and 29 RBIs in his first 100 plate appearances of the season.
The hot start has melted the brain of USA Today writer Bob Nightengale. He’s comparing the trade for Didi with the trade for Babe Ruth.
No, I’m not kidding. Shoutout to Busted Coverage for bringing this insanity to light.
The New York #Yankees always thought their greatest trade in franchise history was stealing Babe Ruth from the #Redsox. The Didi Gregorius heist from the #Dbacks is now entering the discussion. The dude is hitting .364 with 9 homers, 29 RBI and a staggering 1.290 OPS

Didi has been a great pickup for the Yankees and prior to this hot start has put together three solid seasons. But Babe Ruth’s career was legendary.
Maybe Didi will put together a legendary career and Bob will look like a genius. More likely, he’ll have a solid career and Bob’s take will look completely insane.
