Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, who is currently on administrative leave, waited until Friday afternoon to release a statement. In his statement, released on Twitter, Meyer now admits to knowing about the 2015 domestic violence allegations against assistant coach Zack Smith and says he reported it properly.
There’s a lot to get through in this statement. He now says his response on July 24th to the media, when he denied any knowledge of the 2015 incident, was incorrect. But not purposely so, he just wasn’t prepared to talk to the media about it.
It's important to clarify that if Urban Meyer goes down, it won't be because he knew of the domestic violence in 2015.
It will be because of this exact moment at Big Ten Media Days last week: pic.twitter.com/dQ9LrJPyPj

If Meyer did know about the 2015 domestic violence allegations against Smith, and we all know he did, then he continued to keep a man on his coaching staff that he knew had multiple domestic violence accusations. He then lied to the media about it.
Meyer topped the whole thing off by releasing his statement on a Friday afternoon. These are all the actions of a guy who should not be coaching young men.
