UFC fighter Rachael Ostovich’s estranged husband Arnold Berdon was sentenced to 4 years probation on Thursday as a result of a November attack that left her with a fractured eye socket.
The original attempted murder charges were downgraded to 2nd degree assault, leading to the lighter punishment.
Via TMZ Sports:
As for Berdon … after his initial arrest, prosecutors downgraded the charge to 2nd-degree assault — and he pled no contest back in March.
Berdon was sentenced on Thursday to 4 years probation — which appears to be a good deal for Berdon considering he was facing up to 5 years in prison.
An MMA fighter who fractures his wife’s eye socket isn’t the kind of guy who needs to be shown any kind of leniency.
How do you not end up with any jail time for this kind of attack? There’s something really wrong with the criminal justice system.
