According to Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue, LeBron’s game winner looked a lot like “The Shot”, the Michael Jordan hanging game-winning buzzer-beater in the 1989 playoffs over Craig Ehlo to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers
Tyronn Lue pretty much said it was the same play, maybe he had that in mind before LeBron hit the buzzer beater.

As usual fans weighed in on Lue’s comments.
Yeah, But Jordan is Jordan…
Lebron just wants to be like Mike…. But will never get there…

And this is an old metric. Go have a seat young man. pic.twitter.com/zOwMe40DS2

Without a doubt, Jordan had a better contest on him, and had to hang in the air for that shot – making it much more impressive shot made. Similar though, definitely.

Clean look vs. contested > distance from the basket – it's just an objectively more impressive/clutch shot. Not taking anything away from LeBron, that was a great shot – but there remains a gap between these moments.

If MJ missed Cavs would’ve won, If Lebron missed there’s overtime #Levels

Jordan did more to get open. Had to fight for it.

Both shots were incredible. Jordan’s looked a lot tougher, and had the game on the line. Why must we go down this road after anyone does anything remotely awesome. Jordan will never be replaced by LeBron. They’re just too different of players.
