“My sergeant is all for it,” the officer said. That may have been the case, but the CPD’s Bureau of Internal Affairs is certainly not happy. They’ve launched an investigation into the incident and have stripped the officer of a special certification that allows him to drive on the tarmac, per the Chicago Tribune.
“The activity and behavior demonstrated in that video poses a significant risk to the officers and overall aviation safety on the airfield,” city spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the paper. “The superintendent was furious about what he saw.”
The cop’s reason for chauffeuring Hogan probably won’t help his case, either. In the video Hogan posted to Facebook, the wrestler and Hart joked about avoiding all the chaos at baggage claim.
“That’s why I don’t have a problem doing this,” the officer replies.
After pulling off the tarmac and back onto the street, the driver silenced his sirens as he merged into traffic.
“It’s just not normal driving around without a siren on.” Hogan said.
The video ends shortly after as the conversation turned to Chicago politics.
“Let me get off this live here,” the cameraman says before the feed cuts out. “We love Chicago.”
