If you thought you had already heard the hottest take on Lamar Jackson you haven’t heard anything yet. ESPN’s College Football analyst Trevor Matich doesn’t think Jackson should switch to reciever, he doesn’t think he should have entered the draft at all.
Matich says Jackson is a long term project and should have stayed in school. Hear his take on Jackson on 102.5 The Game at around the 12:35 mark:
“Lamar Jackson is the one guy that should have stayed in school. There is zero question about that.”
Matich doubled down on his Jackson take on Twitter.
I like Lamar Jackson as an NFL qb, but as a long term project. He is too far behind the learning curve right now, will need time. If a team has patience with him, he can become a special player. But he would have benefited from another year in college.

They same old song and dance about quarterbacks who aren’t of a certain skin tone. Remember Matich is talking about a Heisman Trophy winning quarterback, not a bum from Wyoming.
