Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner apologized publicly on Tuesday for offensive tweets he sent out as a teenager. He had previously released a statement apologizing, but must have felt the need to speak about it.
Turner took full responsibility for his offensive tweets and made no excuses, “It’s not when I said the things I said, it’s that I said them at all.”

Turner has issued a statement and apologized publicly. All that’s left is to be showered with boos on the road and we’ll all forget about it. That is until another player has his offensive old tweets exposed.
