Early in the first period of the Maple Leafs and Devils game on Thursday night, Travis Dermott was sent to the locker room after a cheap shot from behind.
The dirty hit from New Jersey’s Brett Seney left Dermott down on the ice for several moments. He eventually got up and started off the ice.
Hitting a guy in the back like that is about as dirty as a hit gets. But Dermott’s a hockey player and we all know how tough hockey players are. If he’s medically cleared to return to the game, he will return to the game.
