Manufacturer Airweave said the beds are nowhere near as flimsy as Andrew thinks. They confirmed the frame can withstand up to 200kg, more than enough weight for two people under the covers.
‘We’ve conducted experiments, like dropping weights on top of the beds,’ the Airweave spokesperson said.
‘As long as they stick to just two people in the bed, they should be strong enough to support the load.’
During Rio 2016, condom companies reported dished out 450,000 condoms over the 17-day event, averaging 42 per contestant.
Expect the numbers to be even higher this time around.
