Tiffany Ortiz released a statement on Thursday thanking Eliezer Salvador for helping to save David Ortiz’s life.
In her statement she credits the owner of a sports betting firm in the Dominican Republic with providing the first steps in getting the MLB star the care he needed.
Salvador drove Big Papi to the hospital on Sunday night and crashed his own car.

“I want to take this opportunity to offer our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Eliezer Salvador, owner of Presidente Sports, for your quick thinking and swift action on Sunday night,” Tiffany Ortiz said in a statement.
“Your heroism and selflessness were the first steps to ensuring David could get the urgent care he required. For that we are eternally grateful.”
There are those who panick and those who take action in these types of situations. It sounds like Ortiz was lucky that Salvador was close by.
