The Boston Red Sox White House visit is scheduled for later this week. Recently manager Alex Cora announced that he was joining several of his players by not attending the visit. This has caused a divide in the Red Sox locker room among racial lines.
The players who have bowed out of the visit are all players of color, while those who are attending are almost exclusively white players and front office personnel.
This fact wasn’t lost on Steve Buckley of The Athletic, who sent a tweet out in response to Cora’s announcement pointing out that everyone from the Red Sox planning to attend is white.
Pitcher David Price quote tweeted Buckley saying more than his followers needed to see the tweet.
I just feel like more than 38k should see this tweet… https://t.co/BtbK0DNPQc

This division probably isn’t going to help them salvage the rest of the season. It will be known as the year Trump defeated the Red Sox.
