Game 5 of the ALCS had everything setup for an Astros win to force a Game 6. The Red Sox had David Price on the mound against the Astros Justin Verlander. Price has historically struggled in the postseason while Verlander is a postseason hero.
The game unexpectedly ended with a 4-1 victory for the Red Sox. Price went six innings, striking out nine without allowing a run. Verlander also went six inning, but he gave up four runs that were too much for Houston to overcome.
The Red Sox are going to their fourth World Series in the last 15 years. They have a few days off while they wait to see who they will face from the National League.
