The New York Yankees previewed a new way for fans to drink beer at Yankee Stadium this season at a press event this week. Only one problem, this could be not allowed. The team has already been warned by MLB that a vendor’s innovation breaks league rules.
According to Blue Point Brewery:
Blue Point Brewery, served at the Blue Point Bleachers Bar at Yankee Stadium, has created something it calls “Pinstripe Pilsner,” which can include an image in the foam. You can choose from a variety of Yankees players and logos, including Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.
This is pretty incredible. @BluePointBrewer at @yankeestadium is printing players’ faces on beer this season (also coffee and some food). @TheJudge44, @ElGarySanchez, @Giancarlo818 and @AChapman_105 are loaded into the system already with more to come. #Yankees pic.twitter.com/FlybIy6bTj

Via Newsday:
“Major League Baseball, which does not permit active players to be involved in the advertising or promotion of alcohol-related products, caught wind of the idea and quickly issued what amounted to a cease-and-desist order. “We were unaware,” of the images, a spokesman for MLB said Tuesday. “We spoke to the club, the club wasn’t aware, either. To the best of our knowledge, they have told them it’s not authorized, to cease doing it.’”
We demand that all beer be served this way. @Yankees pic.twitter.com/6K9wOfcjTt

This is pretty cool, but also pretty pointless. It’s a fricking face in foam, in a beer. That’s about it, nothing too groundbreaking. It’s a novelty, and a great one time IG post. That’s exactly why they created it.
