The Jose Bautista experiment didn’t last long in Atlanta. He was released after just 40 plate appearances. The 37 year old hit just .142 with two homeruns and five RBIs.
On Tuesday the New York Mets announced they were signing Bautista to a one year Major League deal and he would be available immediately.
We’ve signed outfielder José Bautista to a one-year major league contract. Bautista will wear #11 and be available for tonight’s game. To make room on the 25-man roster, we’ve optioned Phillip Evans to Las Vegas. #Mets pic.twitter.com/Sd3UMy0zT1

Expect a more of the same out Bautista in the Big Apple. His staring at the pitcher and bat flipping days are over.
