Astos infielder Alex Bregman beat the A’s on a play we can guarantee you’ve never seen before.  With one out in the 11th inning and a runner on base, Bregman hit a ball off the end of his bat that went foul and spun back fair.

After the ball spun back, the catcher picked it up to tag Bregman.  The catcher then dropped the ball trying to tag Bregman, who put on the brakes and backed up to avoid the tag.

The A’s catcher then made matters worse by throwing the ball into right field, allowing the winning run to score.  Yay Moneyball!
