The Oklahoma City Thunder have rid themselves of Carmelo Anthony and they managed to get something in return. They traded the former superstar to the Atlanta Hawks, who plan to waive him.
Anthony and a protected 2022 first round pick were sent to Atlanta for point guard Dennis Schroder and Mike Muscala.
Once he’s waived, Melo is expected to join his pal Chris Paul in Houston. The Rockets are apparently in need of a washed forward who can’t shoot three pointers or play defense.

The NBA off-season continues to be full of surprises. The thought has been that Melo would end up in Houston, but the Hawks jumping in to help it along was surprising.
