The four College Football Playoff teams have been selected and the two semifinal matchups set.  

Alabama took the number one seed followed by Clemson at number two, Notre Dame at three and Oklahoma rounding it out at four.

It looks like the selection committiee got it right.  These are the best four teams in College Football. 

You could make an argument for Georgia to have been included, but not Ohio State. 

Ohio State is not one of the four best teams.  Not to mention the fact that their head coach is a scumbag.  Leaving them out was absolutely the right call.
