Super Bowl LIV is just a few days away and as is the case with every Super Bowl people are placing some big time bets on the game. As for the game itself, it’s a tale of two completely different styles of football and it could go either way.
Despite the Kansas City Chiefs speed and high powered offense, oddsmakers are expecting the San Francisco 49ers defense to be able to slow them down. This game could come down to whoever has the ball last walking away as the winner.
- The 49ers won more games this season (13) than in their previous three seasons combined (12).
- The Chiefs have not lost since Nov. 10th. If they win, they will have recorded the longest calendar win streak by a Super Bowl champion since the 2003 New England Patriots, who won every game they played that season after Sep. 28.
- The heaviest player listed on either roster, San Francisco lineman Jaryd Jones-Smith, weighs 345 pounds, which is more than twice as much as the lightest player, KC defensive back Alex Brown (170 pounds).
- Patrick Mahomes has already tied an NFL record by recording a passer rating of 117 or higher in three straight playoff games. He will break the four-way tie with Joe Montana, Aaron Rodgers, and Matt Ryan if he surpasses 115 in the Super Bowl.
It’s very easy to get caught up in the outside noise surrounding the biggest game of the entire season. The team that can block out that noise the best and stay focused on the game will be the team that will end up being crowned champion.
