Brewers left-hander Wade Miley started Game 5 against the Dodgers, but only threw five pitches before being lifted. After getting the first batter out, he was lifted for right-hander Brandon Woodruff.
The idea was for the Dodgers to setup their lineup for a lefty and then actually have to handle a right-hander. Miley who only threw only five pitches will start Game 6.
Brewers manager Craig Counsell’s plan might have worked if the Brewers were able to score some runs. Woodruff went five and a third giving up two runs, but was out-pitched by Clayton Ker, who went seven strong only allowing a run.
