The Atlanta Braves announced on Wednesday that they have signed free agent Jose Bautista. The 37 year old, who hasn’t played third base since 2011, signed a minor league deal to play third base for the Braves.
The Atlanta #Braves today agreed to terms with free agent infielder José Bautista on a one-year minor-league contract for the 2018 season, and he has reported to Atlanta’s extended spring training complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. He will play third base.

Is it possible that the Braves didn’t know he was an outfielder? Unlikely considering Atlanta’s GM, Alex Anthopoulos, was in Toronto when Bautista played right field.
Bautista, who hit just .203 with 23 homeruns last year, is probably wishing he would have taken a hometown discount a couple of years ago to sign a long term contract with the Blue Jays.
Unless he really wanted to sign a minor league deal to move back to third base. Someone better get back on those PEDs.
