AAF chairman Tom Dundon said that following his departure from the CFL, quarterback Johnny Manziel has been in contact with the league. He also said the former NFL QB has been offered the opportunity to workout for the league’s teams.
Via USA Today Sports:
Johnny Manziel’s camp has been in contact with Alliance of American Football officials about the possibility of joining the league, AAF chairman Tom Dundon told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday.
Dundon said the league and Manziel’s camp have been in touch in the 24 hours after the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner was barred from the Canadian Football League, and the AAF has offered him the opportunity to work out for its teams.
It’s not exactly the NFL, but the AAF does give Manziel a chance to play professional football in the United States. The league is off to a strong start ratings-wise and Johnny Football taking snaps for one of its teams will only help the league.
Manziel can’t be any worse than Christian Hackenberg.
