Texas softball pitcher Miranda Elish was forced to leave Friday night’s NCAA super regional game against Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She took a ball thrown by her catcher to the face.
The ball dropped Elish and she stayed down for several minutes before being taken to the hospital as a precaution.

It’s hard to tell where exactly the catcher was trying to throw this ball. An unfortunate mistake that led to a trip to the hospital for the talented pitcher.
The Longhorns’ rallied after Elish left the game and they mounted a 7-5 comeback.
We’ve said it before and we’ll continue to say it, if you want to avoid these types of unfortunate moments then you need to wear a mask as a pitcher.
