The Texans have reportedly started contract extension talks with quarterback Deshaun Watson. Those talks haven’t yielded a new deal yet and they plan to exercise their fifth-year option on him.
Houston has until May 4th to exercise the option which is projected to cost them $17.3 million. The hard work isn’t exercising the option, it’s trying to convince Watson to sign a long-term deal.
