Cam Newton is getting closer to returning from the Lisfranc injury that has kept him off the field for the past four games. Backup Kyle Allen has played well enough to win those four games, more than keeping the Panthers’ playoff hopes alive.
Allen’s unexpected success combined with Newton’s injuries and struggles have other teams circling prior to next week’s trade deadline. Teams remain interested in what has been described as a “robust trade market.”
