It is no news that the recession possibilities in the USA have become a significant cause for concern. Also, these concerns have often been pinned on the incompetency of the present administration, which is that of Joe Biden. However, these incompetency claims also extend to all Democrats in general in a bid to besmirch these individuals during the midterm election season.
Lately, while speaking at a brewing company in Georgia, the Georgia Democrat candidate – Stacey Abrams, pinned the state’s economic crisis on the present administration of the incumbent Governor Brian Kemp.
She said, and we quote:
“He can point the finger as much as he likes – but this is the economy he created or it is not. He can not have it both ways. You do not get to take credit but refuse to take responsibility”.
She pitched her plan for the state to be the investment in the state’s younger generation and also provide equity to small and minority business start-ups in the state.
However, Stacey’s speech highlights the allowance of gambling in casinos and sports betting platforms in the State of Georgia. This plan would allow punters to use state-owned online platforms, thus reducing the dependency on offshore websites like the Bizzo Casino.
She also reinstated that her administration would create funding for financial aid programs through state lottery allowances as the basis of allotment.
In her speech, she said, and we quote:
“This will serve as a permanent source of revenue to underwrite broader access to education. We can afford it and we must do it. Studies projected the potential for billions to exist in economic impact funds that will not only finance our efforts to replenish and expand the Hope Scholarship, but it will also provide new economic opportunities for Georgia that can grow jobs and make our economy stronger for everyone”.
In addition to many of her promises, she vowed to reinstate and reconstitute the Georgia contractor bidding program. With the bid to provide equity to small businesses, she promised to allow individuals within the state to bid on cluster contracts.
“Minorities make up 48% of Georgia’s population but only 12% of the state revenue”, she said.
In addition, she said, and we quote:
“We can invest in those businesses by making certain that we put those contracts forward that we increase every single year by at least 1%. But I intend to go faster and further because we can not afford to wait. We cannot thrive as a state if we are leaving half the state behind”.
However, she also implored the people of Georgia to consider the current conditions within the state and what they could mean if it goes on for the subsequent tenure. She also made instances about the cancellation of the Midtown Music festival due to the permitless gun-carry law in the state, saying:
“This cancellation will cost Georgia’s economy $50 million dollars, and the governor does not care because maintaining favor with the NRA matters more to him than the welfare of everyday people. But we have seen this behavior from him before. Whether it was his temper tantrum with Delta or his voter suppression law that cost Georgia the All-Star Game. When the choice is between what’s best for Brian Kemp’s future and what is best for Georgia, Brian Kemp will always choose himself”.
However, it is noteworthy that the amendment that would allow casino and sports gambling within the state would have to get approved by two-thirds of the Senate House in Georgia before it is passed to state voters for the final decision.
According to the RealClearPolitics polling average, Brian Kemp edges over Stacey Abrams by 4.2%. Fox 5 – Atlanta conducted a poll on July 26th – 27th, giving 49% to 44% in favor of Brian.
