In the 9th inning of what turned out to be an awesome 4-3 Michigan win, a Wolverines’ batter was tossed by an incredibly soft umpire for swiping at the dirt with his bat following a questionable strike call.
It’s the first day of baseball and the super pillowy soft umpires are already setting the tone. The pitch looked a little inside. Was the hitter unhappy with the call? Probably.

But all he did was take a little swipe at the dirt with his bat. He didn’t turn around and he didn’t appear to say anything. This umpire needs a suspension or something to get him back in check.
