Soccer is a sport that is closely linked with WAGs and glamour. Obviously, some soccer stars cross the line, forgetting that they are committed or even married. Therefore, this beautiful game is definitely not short of scandals as well as super-injunctions, and enough soccer players gave into temptation throughout their careers.

Soccer stars are always in the spotlight whether they play in the big leagues, participate in interviews for famous shows, or star in commercials for products from Everlast or other big brands. It is hard for them to go unnoticed, especially when they are doing something they shouldn’t.

Olivier Giroud

Arsenal’s striker was accused of having an affair with Celia Kay, a famous model. The indiscretion took place at the Four Seasons hotel, a night before a match against Crystal Palace. The French soccer player was shot in his underwear at the up-mentioned hotel. After the incident broke out, the striker was prompted to issue an apology for his wife. 

Later, in various interviews, Giroud mentioned that parts of the media stories were true, but others were completely false. Moreover, he wants to move past the entire distress and concentrate on soccer.

Mesut Ozil

Another Arsenal member strikes! Mesut Ozil was accused of having a romantic affair with the girlfriend of his ex-teammate while he was in a relationship with Mandy Capristo. 

Christian Lell, the former Bayern Munich defender stated that Ozil was the reason behind his separation from Melanie Rickinger. Lell also revealed a series of steamy messages between Ozil and Rickinger. However, Arsenal’s playmaker is yet to deny the accusations.

Franck Ribery

The French soccer star found himself in a scandal in 2010. Ribery was committed to his wife Wahiba, after he had converted to Islam prior to the marriage. The couple also have two children together. 

Still, he and his national teammates Sidney Govou and Karim Benzema have been charged with having sex with Zahia Dehar, a prostitute, before she was 18. The verdict has not been reached yet. However, if convicted, Ribery would face three years in prison as well as a £40,000 fine.

Wayne Rooney

Not only French soccer stars have been caught cheating! Soccer player Wayne Rooney married Coleen McLoughlin in 2008, even though he had previously admitted that he likes frequenting massage parlors, and he had done so even during their relationship. 

Jennifer Thompson is a prostitute who claims that the Manchester United striker paid for her services while his wife was pregnant with Kai, their son. Rooney found himself under tremendous pressure and soon realized that the media’s attention started to affect him on the pitch as well. 

Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs – Imogen Thomas Saga was a high-profile case but not the only scandal the athlete would have to face. In 2007, Giggs was married to Stacey Cooke, and he seemed to be the perfect role model. Unfortunately, Twitter came and took everything away. 

The ex-Manchester United star tried to put out a gagging order anonymously, in order to prevent the news of his affair with Imogen Thomas, the former Big Brother star, from coming out. Unfortunately for him, he was soon revealed to have taken out an injunction and was exposed as the man using the CTB codename on Twitter. 

Giggs and his wife somehow managed to stay together throughout the incident. However, after a short while, it was speculated that he had an affair with his sister-in-law as well. 

John Terry

The Chelsea captain managed to become one of the most high-profile situations of infidelity in the soccer world, in 2010. Even though he had previously admitted having cheated on his wife, Toni Poole, in the past, Terry stated that it was all in the past and that they succeeded in moving on. 

Soon after came the affair with the girlfriend of Wayne Bridge, his former teammate. Although Terry required a super-injunction on a Sunday newspaper to prevent it from revealing his affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the court lifted the injunction. The defender soon became one of the nation’s villains. 

Ashley Cole

The soccer star gained the reputation as a bad boy after the media linked him to a series of extramarital liaisons. In 2008, the Roma left-back player and his wife, Cheryl, were one of the UK’s power couples. 

The situation soon took a turn for the worse when it was reported that hairdresser Aimee Walton, and models Brooke Healy and Coralie Robinson have been romantically involved with the soccer player.

When more accusations appeared in 2010, he separated from the nation’s sweetheart, Cheryl Cole, and also became one of England’s most despised men.
