Angels pitcher/DH aka Babe Ruth, Shohei Ohtani, lit up the radar gun on Tuesday. He hit a new high for a starter this year with a 101 mph fastball.
Ohtani joins relievers Aroldis Chapman and Jordan Hicks as the only pitchers to throw a pitch that hard this season. It’s just another thing to add to his legend.
Now he’s got to set his sights on top exit velocity. That is if he wants to continue to get at bats. Everyone knows exit velocity is more important than those old stats like batting average.
