Hurricanes goalie Petr Mrazek thought it would be a good idea to take a swing at Sharks center Joe Thornton with his stick. This came after Thornton poked Mrazek with his stick.
The two then had a brief discussion about things before the 40-year-old Thornton punched Mrazek in the throat.
The throat punch dropped the Hurricanes goalie and he needed medical attention before play resumed.
