The Seattle Seahawks announced on Thursday that they have released veterans Doug Baldwin and Kam Chancellor. Both men failed their physicals.

There have been rumors all off-season that Baldwin, Russell Wilson’s favorite target, would be retiring due to injuries he suffered last season. He has yet to announce his retirement, but this might push him in that direction.
Safety Kam Chancellor hasn’t played since November of 2017 due to a neck injury.
Seahawks general manager John Schneider released a statement after the two veterans were let go:
“The Seahawks have made the difficult decision to terminate/failed physical Doug Baldwin and Kam Chancellor. These are two of the most iconic players in franchise history, and both were instrumental in establishing our championship culture, great examples of competitiveness and leadership on the field and in the community. These legendary players will always be a part of our Seahawks family.”
Releasing injured players is a rough part of the NFL, but some athletes need a little help realizing that it’s time to call it quits.
