Phillies shortstop Scott Kingery had to get creative with his slide at the plate to avoid being tagged out. He somehow changes direction mid-slide and created just enough room to for the catcher’s glove to miss him.
The run came on a bases loaded double off of the bat of Andrew McCutchen. Kingery scored from first base on the hit thanks to his magical slide.
The run helped make it a close game, but the Phillies ended up losing the game on a walk-off walk. It might not have helped to win the game, but it helped McCutchen’s RBI total. So maybe Kingery should be gifted up a few bucks from Cutch for the extra effort.
