Santa Fe High School pitcher and University of Houston commit, Rome Shubert, was one of 10 injured in Friday’s shooting that killed 10 others. The sophomore right hander took a bullet to the back of the head.
Shubert is very lucky (considering the circumstances) and narrowly escaped paralysis or worse. He spoke with the local news and discussed the incident and his close call.

That’s about as close as a close call can be. Hopefully this kid makes the most of his second chance.
