The Royals and White Sox started the season off on the wrong foot back in April when Chicago shortstop Tim Anderson was hit with a pitch for pimping a home run. On Wednesday night, the two met up again and things got a little out of hand early on.
Anderson was hit in the head with a pitch during his first at-bat causing the umpire to immediately eject Royals starter Glenn Sparkman.
The pitch, which was clocked at 86 mph, appeared to be a changeup that got away from Sparkman who hits the mid-90s with his fastball.
Royals catcher Martin Maldonado and Manager Ned Yost both argued with the umpire after the ejection that it was a changeup that got away.

Anderson would eventually take his base without further incident. After the game, however, he made it clear that he isn’t a fan of the Royals.

Would you expect anything less from two teams with below .500 records? If only those bat flips counted in the win column. Maybe one day.
