Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen has certainly proved to be a competent NFL backup. He’s won four games this season while Cam Newton recovers from a Lisfranc injury he reaggrevated Week 2.
Newton is getting closer with every week to returning to the team. According to a source close to the Panthers, Cam’s return doesn’t guarantee he’ll be the starter.
Following Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers in London, head coach Ron Rivera was asked about those reports and refused to answer.
