The Redskins officially announced Ron Rivera as their new head coach with an interesting post on social media that suggests he might have passed away, not just been hired by the team.
Rivera’s first order of business is to put together his coaching staff. He wasted no time in doing that and has reportedly hired Jack Del Rio to be the defensive coordinator and to call the defensive plays.
Del Rio, who last coached in the NFL as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders in 2017, has a pretty good track record of turning around defenses as a DC.
