Things took a turn for the bizarre during Wednesday night’s UConn-Tulsa game. A rogue referee handed out a second technical foul to head coaches Dan Hurley and Frank Haith, after Hurley attempted to shake hands with Haith.
The two had just exchanged words briefly which earned them the first technical fouls.
This is probably the first time two coaches have been ejected for attempting a handshake.
This referee needs a suspension at the very least. There’s an argument to be made that he should be fired for how insane these technical fouls are.
Who in their right mind thinks a handshake is an offense that is worthy of a technical foul? It’s so unbelievable you could never make it up.
