News broke on Monday that Dolphins defensive end William Hayes’ ACL injury was due to his attempt to avoid to land on Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
ESPN’s Trey Wingo questioned the rule on Twitter because while the QB avoided injury, Hayes’ season is over.

49ers cornerback Richard Sherman responded to Wingo’s tweet saying the NFL only cares about QBs.
They don’t care about the rest of us getting hurt. Long as the QB is safe https://t.co/ihjlz3lVQl

Sherman isn’t wrong. The lowering the helmet rule didn’t make it out of the preseason, but this “Aaron Rodgers” rule has been called nonstop.
